In the future, you will be able to rely on humanoid robots to get many things done in your home. Plenty of companies are working on perfecting them but these robots will cost a lot of money at first. The K-Bot from K-Scale Labs is a $8999 open source 4’7″ robot capable of human-like movement and manipulation. It can run AI/ML models, so the sky’s the limit.

This robot will have an open source SDK and can be programmed in Python. Its operating system, K-OS, is written in Rust. This robot features modular end-effectors, so it can take on a variety of tasks, including operating kitchen appliances. K-Sim is its reinforcement learning framework for training the robot for various tasks, including walking, dance, and cooking.
